KVC West Virginia is looking to hire a Foster/Adoptive Case Manager for Marion and surrounding areas. If you enjoy traveling and like a flexible work environment KVC will be a great place for you. We work with children and families to provide support and guidance in areas of need. The Foster/Adoptive Care Case Manger acts as member of a treatment team, makes required home visits to the foster or adoptive home and school visits.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social services field

Licensure/Certification Licensed by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners or equivalent board. License is preferred but not required

Experience Minimum of two years’ experience in children and family services with preferable knowledge and demonstrated experience of the WV Medicaid Program.

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned according to the qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • Build a child welfare system that is safe, secure and stable, family centered, connected to the community
  • Act as member of treatment team and give feedback on client progress
  • Will make required home visits to the foster or adoptive home a minimum of two times per month or as directed by the treatment plan
  • Will make at least one time per month school visits or as directed by the child’s treatment plan
  • Will meet with all Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. Will attend all IEP meetings.
  • Will travel (possibly to multiple counties in a service area) and be able to work in homes of families that are served.
  • Will be knowledgeable in the areas of child development, parenting skills, and trauma
  • Will ensure that all child placing and Medicaid standards are met through documentation and keeping the child’s chart up to date.
  • Will have knowledge of Medically and Socially Necessary services techniques and proper documentation of these services.
  • Will have knowledge of de-escalation techniques
  • Will participate in a 24 hour on-call rotation
  • Will work with all community members involved in the child’s life including the birth mother or birth extended family
  • Will provide supervised visitation and will document the outcome of the visits
  • Will have good working relationship with the Department of Health and Human Services
  • Meet with Foster/Medically Necessary Supervisor for a minimum of one hour bi-weekly to provide supervision
  • Participate in administrative supervision as requested
  • Meet performance expectation including contract requirements, timelines, regulations and laws
  • Provide direct services per program state, and contract guidelines
  • Complete all required paperwork and follows agency policies and procedures within timelines to ensure smooth paperwork flow.
  • Participates in all scheduled meetings court hearings consultations and staff meetings as required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
