Interviewing to fill one (1) full-time Director of Security position at Brass Mill Center, located in Waterbury, CT. Responsible for on-site supervision and leadership of security personnel and ensuring site coverage at all times. Must have Saturday availability. • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Some college education desirable.
• Ideal candidate will have administrative experience in security or related field; experience in scheduling, operations or security industry a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of professional-level experience required and prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement and/or military desired.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must be reliable and on time with reliable transportation
• Weekend availability (Saturday)
• Must remain free of illegal drug use

Objective:

- Directly reporting to the General Manager and Operations Manager, the Director of Security provides on-site leadership and handles day-to-day operations of all security personnel assigned to the Shopping Center and communicates any problems or concerns to Management.

- Hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and performance monitoring of all shift supervisors and security officers. Administering counseling or disciplinary action as needed.

- Respond to site emergencies as they arise, including ensuring appropriate communication to Operations/GM.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

- Reporting on-site to monitor performance and proper post orders, enforce professional image (including proper hygiene and uniform appropriateness), address daily operational issues, communicate policy changes/updates, create/adjust staffing schedules as needed.

- Responsible for hiring process including interviewing, onboarding, training, scheduling, review of post orders (as needed), and filling-in and/or standing post until post replacement arrives in the event of a call-out.

- Identifying any personnel problems, employee complaints/concerns and relaying to Management; writing a detailed report of situation if required.

- Ability to work independently and ensure all Management instructions are followed consistently and thoroughly.

- Manages incident reports and communicates to Management when necessary.

- Maintain visibility and positive relationship with tenants, vendors and guests by conducting foot patrols or fulfilling standing posts as needed.

- Must possess superior interpersonal skills and be able to speak confidently and professionally in English with people or groups of people while positively representing the mall at all times.

- Must be able to operate common communications equipment such as 2-way radios, phones and cell phones.

- Contact law enforcement or emergency responders when appropriate.

Requirements:

- Must be at least 25 years of age.

- Possess a valid state Driver's License, with a clean driving record.

- High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.

- Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgement and discretion.

- Outstanding verbal/written communication; and ability to interact at all levels of organization including security personnel, Management, other departments, vendors and guests.

- Respectful, flexible, courteous and professional attitude under pressure.

- Remain free from illegal drug use.
