Duties
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Document patient care and treatment plans in electronic medical records
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Provide support in dental assisting duties as necessary

Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Maryland
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Proficient in infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Familiarity with dental software systems for scheduling and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques for dental x-rays
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health practices
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records
