How can you grow with Nufarm?The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and coordinating plannable maintenance work for the various pieces of equipment used in the chemical manufacturing and packaging processes at Nufarm. The ultimate goal of the position is to improve work force efficiency and increase equipment reliability by planning work with the operations team that will minimize delays to production and prevent future breakdowns of equipment.
What will you be doing? Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Serve as a liaison between maintenance and operations to schedule preventive maintenance tasks and equipment repairs.
  • Communicate with the maintenance and operations teams the expectations and scope of work to be completed for planned downtime.
  • Understand the full details of a job to provide specific descriptions and step-by-step procedures to maintenance technicians on how work is to be completed.
  • Organize the labor resources, parts, materials, etc. to have work orders performed.
  • Create job plans to improve the consistency and quality of preventive maintenance tasks and repairs.
  • Assist with the development of annual overhaul/shutdown schedules.
  • Implement and manage preventive maintenance tasks to prevent future failures and increase equipment reliability.
  • Communicate with operators to identify problems and provide details of repairs.
  • Work alongside the Engineering and Maintenance Technicians to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment problems across the site.
  • Help in ordering and overseeing the storage and use of equipment spare parts.
  • Manage small maintenance improvement projects such as upgrading equipment and processes, installing pumps, running new pipelines.
  • Observe process systems and equipment such as pumps, pipelines, reactors, compressors, generators, heat exchangers, filters, and agitators in operation.
  • Confer with operators to identify and analyze mechanical defects or malfunctions, utilizing knowledge of mechanical function and performance characteristics of equipment.
  • Contact and oversee various maintenance contractor projects and repairs.
  • Use a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record work orders and implement preventive maintenance tasks.
What do you bring?
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering field required and/or High School Diploma with 2 years of work experience in industrial or manufacturing setting in lieu of engineering degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance planner role.
  • Leadership: provide guidance to maintenance team while taking ownership of equipment and process repair outcomes.
  • Prioritization skills: Prioritize and plan work activities; Use time efficiently.
  • Reasoning ability: effectively communicate problems and solutions to team members both orally and in writing, and maintain interpersonal relationships is essential. Must possess ability to multi-task several projects with various deadlines, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving: a keen ability to solve problems and troubleshoot equipment and process failures is essential.
  • Adaptability & Change management: effectively deal with and handle change and uncertainty. Adapt easily and quickly to a changing environment without losing effectiveness.
  • Personal development: listen well and reflect on feedback; be aware of personal strengths and weaknesses; take continuous action to improve personal capabilities. Have a growth mindset.
  • General skills: requires a self-starting, analytical, detailed, and organized individual with a considerable degree of good judgment, excellent written and oral communication, self-confidence, and the ability to conduct activities without supervision.
