Title: First Year Experience Adjunct Instructor Salary Range: $620.00 per credit hour Contract Term Length: Not Applicable Standard Hours: to be determined Work Location: Hybrid FLSA Status: Non-Exempt College: Jefferson Community & Technical College Campus Location: Jefferson Community College Department: Humanities Job SummaryThe Humanities Division has openings to teach Hybrid, Online or on campus sections of FYE 105 at multiple Jefferson Campuses. Job DutiesThe primary responsibilities of these positions are to teach courses, maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback. Please note that this is an adjunct pool. We will only contact applicants as needed for classes. Minimum QualificationsWhile a Master’s Degree is the preferred credential for teaching FYE, the Implementation Team recognizes that there are those who may have a great deal of experience and knowledge in regards to the content of the FYE course. Therefore, the following Bachelor’s Plus credentials may also be approved:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education
Bachelor’s Degree in any area plus experience teaching GEN 100 or GEN 102 or other FYE-type courses
Bachelor’s Degree in any area plus experience with college student success/student services processes – i.e. advising, student support services, counseling
Preferred QualificationsCandidates who have experience with intersectional, inclusive instruction and with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and student engagement are encouraged to identify those experiences in the application materials. Candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.
