Location: Bridgeport, NJ Directs, administers and coordinates functions of the Distribution Center or Warehouse operation in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the organization. Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied in assigned areas of responsibility. Responsible for maintaining effective communication between both internal and external customers and specific areas of assigned responsibility. Through department managers and supervisors, assists in the recruitment, selection, training, and development of personnel. Ability to coordinate, control and organize multiple functions and activities. Additional responsibilities include: • Responsible for the Corporate Strategy and its execution in the Operations of Aramsco warehouse facility. • Demonstrate the ability to build solid and trusting relationships with Aramsco’s internal customers, by providing exceptional customer service within a sales driven model • Ability to understand or learn our ERP system and all logistics system processes to drive accuracy and efficiency. Eclipse experience a plus • The ability to be data driven, yet understand our model and environment to drive improvement initiatives. • Lead and Inspire Warehouse Operation to be best in class • Establish and drive a culture of safety and productivity. • Manage Warehouse Supervisors and Warehouse Leads, either directly or indirectly • Collaborate with Peers as well as Site Manager and / or Sales Manager where applicable • Collaborate, mentor, and lead warehouse associates with their organization • Motivating others and establishing challenging team/individual goals • Create, direct and modify processes in the warehouse operation to improve productivity and cost • Implement audit controls to ensure process compliance and accuracy. • Focus on methods to reduce overall freight spends and improve lead-times and customer satisfaction as it relates to product delivery • Implement standardized metrics for service, productivity, and warehouse cost reduction. • Assess service alternatives for delivery and implement standardized methodology for cost-efficient delivery meeting desired time frame to service customers • Assess incomplete order fill due to internal operations versus out of stock (OSS) condition – this position is not charged with procurement or maintaining in stock, but accuracy level is a function of warehouse leadership • Develop bench strength and succession planning • Develop methods to minimize errors while maintaining or improving productivity • Responsible for implementing, maintaining and achieving Corporate Quality standards • Develop 'continuous improvement’ utilizing concepts from associates as well as management • Responsible for implementing, maintaining and achieving Corporate Safety standards as a Safety Champion. • Maintain protected environment safeguarding inventory assets • Establish preventive maintenance program to minimize disruption to operations • Ensure facilities are maintained in proper condition • Oversee the development and implementation of engineering standards for the DC / warehouses • Oversee and manage subsidiary cross dock and warehouse operations • Help maintain a strong work ethic by consistent leadership • Provide coaching, corrective actions and administer disciplinary action when needed • Know all warehouse functions inside and out. • Ensure safe use of all equipment in the warehouse along with monitoring that all warehouse employees are Forklift Certified, Certification is maintained and safety standard are adhered to. • Manager staffing to coincide to handle the variable nature of the work load. • Maintain an accurate inventory and help resolve any inventory discrepancies • Ensure all orders are picked accurately and all shipping deadlines are kept • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse. • Answer any questions directed to you by customer service in a timely manner. • Provide freight quotes to customer service. • Review and resolve any discrepancies regarding freight claims • Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained properly. • Maintain all vehicles including yearly inspection and registration. • Implement and train on continuous improvement projects. Primary Duties and Responsibilities 10 years Warehouse management experience with a proven record of positive growth and excellent service level leading a small to mid size organization Strong leadership skills with proven ability in coaching and developing others Outstanding oral, written and analytical skills Should possess excellent management, organizational, leadership and training skills. Project development and planning skills Multiple facility experience a plus Bachelors degree preferred Qualifications/ Skills Manages professional associates and/or supervisors. Is accountable for the performance and results of a team. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions are guided by policies, resources and business plan; receives moderate guidance from manager. Provides subject matter guidance to associates, colleagues and/or customers. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own areas and knowledge of other areas. Integrates industry best practices in own area to the achieve of objectives. Manages a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and sets priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges. Identifies and resolves moderately complex business problems. Impacts the level of service and the team’s ability to meet quality, volume and timeliness of objectives. Guided by department policies, resource requirements, budgets and the business plan.
