Job Details
- Shift: 4 10s, shift variable. Call required, 40hrs/week
- Work Location: Onsite; Pleasanton, CA
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients scheduled for catheterization procedures.
- Obtain and review relevant medical history, allergies, and current medications.
- Assess and monitor vital signs and other relevant physiological parameters.
- Educate patients about the procedure, addressing their concerns and providing necessary information.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during catheterization and angiography procedures.
- Ensure a sterile environment is maintained during procedures to prevent infections.
- Monitor and manage potential complications or adverse reactions to medications or contrast agents.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members, including physicians, technologists, and fellow nurses.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding the procedural process and post-procedure care.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
- RN - Registered Nurse
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- Experience utilizing cath lab monitoring system such as XPER required;
- At least two years of recent Cath Lab experience required.
- Must have experience in circulating and monitoring in diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases.
- Must be comfortable providing care to critically ill patients requiring advanced airway management as well as management of vasoactive drips. Knowledge of EPIC and XPER also preferred.
