DescriptionJX Truck Center - Bloomington is a subsidiary of JX Enterprises, Inc. We have 25 dealerships in 4 states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. As of this posting, the Bloomington branch has approximately 49 employees in all of their departments.Currently, JX Enterprises, Inc. employs approximately 1,250 people.Job OverviewThe Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records. There are multiple shifts available (Monday - Friday).
Pay: $25.00 - $36.50/hr. (based on experience, education, skills, # of OEM certifications, etc.)Shift: Multiple shifts are available (Monday - Friday)Shift Premium: Any hours worked/work performed Monday - Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 5:59 a.m. and/or any hours worked on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) will be paid a shift differential of 15% of your base wage.Working Arrangement: On-site (100%)Hiring Manager: Jarried KnollWhat's the Manager Like? Jarried is a hands-on manager that likes to lead by example. He's easy to talk to and has an open-door policy. He likes to have fun at work to make the day go by faster.Interview process: 1-2 interviews (depending on if a recruiter is asked to conduct a phone interview or not).# of openings: 1Time Frame to Fill: As soon as we find the right candidates for the job, and someone that fits in with our Bloomington team. - Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
- All other duties as assigned
