Job Description:

Description: The BH Security Officer collaborates with all behavioral health staff to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees. The BH Security Officer is responsible for rounding interior assigned areas and assists the department during internal and external situations that may affect normal hospital operations. This position responds to all departmental codes in designated locations.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 2 plus years of experience in a Psychiatric setting or as a Security or Police Officer.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Certification in Non-violent Crisis Training must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Completion of the Behavioral Health Security Training and passing score (80%) on examination within 30 days of hire.
• Current JPS recognized CPR Certification and must be maintained throughout employment. May be obtained subsequent to hire.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Associates Degree in Security Management or a related field of study from an accredited college or university or 3 plus years of experience in a Psychiatric setting or as a Security or Police Officer.
