Position Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Dayton's most transformative projects. As Vice President for OnMain and Executive Director for Real Estate Management for UD, you will be at the forefront of Dayton's future, turning onMain’s vision into tangible outcomes that contribute to the city's dynamic growth and leave a lasting legacy on our community's development. In 2017, Premier Health and the University of Dayton acquired the 38-acre former Montgomery County Fairgrounds site. Since then, we have been developing a long-term strategy for the property that aligns with our institutional missions and values, promotes economic development, and fosters a unique sense of place that benefits the entire community.

The Vice President for onMain, and Executive Director for UD is an entrepreneurial, collaborative leader and innovative thinker, adept at engaging with Boards, both public and private entities The Vice President will be a direct report to the President of OnMain and Assistant Vice President for Real Estate Management, and will play a pivotal role in offering leadership, vision, and strategic guidance for the District's development and operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the mission and objectives set by the Board of Directors, orchestrating the execution of District development activities, and proficiently managing its business affairs while serving as its authorized representative. A robust background in leadership, strategic visioning, financial management, personnel oversight, and collaboration across public and private sectors is imperative. The Vice President must possess an understanding that the strategies for the District's path to success hinges on synergizing talent and technology with capital and investment, all while promoting inclusivity and equity.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A baccalaureate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related fields such as business administration, accounting, finance
  • At least ten (10) years of increasing responsibilities with strong demonstrated success in development, proven project management and finance experiences
  • Experience with municipal finance, public incentive programs, and capital investment budgeting
  • Experience in business finance, and of local and state incentive programs
  • Basic knowledge and experience involving urban real estate development, and handling land use development topics, including development plan requirement and processes
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with both public and private sector individuals, officials, and organizations
  • Experience in budget preparation, fiscal management, and analysis
  • Ability to supervise and manage professionals and administrative staff members, as well as consultants
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Master's degree in business administration, accounting, or project management
  • Advanced knowledge and experience involving urban real estate development, and handling land use development topics, including development plan requirement and processes
  • Experience working closely and effectively with both public and private sector individuals, officials, and organizations
  • Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
