Johnston County is Hiring a Human Services Planner/Evaluator I/Opioid Grant Coordination Near Smithfield, NC

The Johnston County Health Department has a full-time opening for an employee who will coordinate Opioid Settlement Funding from the state of North Carolina awarded to county government.This position will help to coordinate, plan and work with entities that implement programs, which address opioid misuse, addiction and overdose. Develop partnerships that improve access to care and resources, monitor recovery support services (which includes peer support specialists). Plan early intervention educational programs, facilitate the narcan community distribution plan, and conduct program planning and data collection for long-term goals such as post overdose response teams.Work with a team of employees to oversee all aspects of opioid grant funding which includes planning, organizing, technical assistance and evaluating diverse service delivery components in the complex opioid program area. Will gain detailed knowledge of the grant parameters and grant activities, enabling the employee to coordinate, and monitor the implementation of activities to ensure compliance with programmatic and fiscal requirements. Data collection and grant reporting required. This employee will assist with annual financial and impact reports as required by State guidelines, with much of the reporting work to be available to the public.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department personnel, community organizations, and the general public. Other job related duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.(Planner) - General knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and planning an ability to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel; and an ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures. (Evaluator) Considerable knowledge of the process involved in program evaluation methodology. General knowledge of theory and source literature in the subject area(s). Some knowledge of the use and capabilities of manual and EDP systems in gathering, storing, retrieving, and analyzing data. Ability to write and present reports and information in an appropriate and effective manner.(Planner) - A four year degree in public service administration, psychology, sociology, or social work or a human service programmatic field, preferably with coursework in human service planning; or graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of administrative or consultative experience in a human service program; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. (Evaluator) - Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in psychology, sociology, or social work or a human service programmatic field, preferably with coursework in human services program evaluation; or graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of program evaluation or consultative experience in human service programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Information: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
