Summary
The Senior GI Research Coordinator will carry out the day-to-day operations of the GI Research Department including research operations and clinical activities, and will take a lead role, along with the PI, in the recruitment and enrollment of patients into research studies. Clinical activities will include patient scheduling, medical record management, clinical data entry, training new staff and billing submission. Research operations support will include basic office duties, preparation of research grants and manuscripts, data entry. Functions will include assisting in the conduct of research studies including patient recruitment and data entry. The position requires a working knowledge and experience with the following computer packages: Microsoft Office (including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint). Outstanding interpersonal and organization skills are a must.
Responsibilities
Clinical Office Duties
* Coordinates patient appointments, scheduling different procedures
* Performs receptionist duties (correspondence to patients and sponsors)
* Maintains patient records
* Establishes and maintains clinical databases
* Submits billing
Research Program Coordination
* Provides continuous communication with PI and sponsor
* Assists PI's multiple investigator's studies
* Performs basic office functions: Xeroxing, filing, mailing, ordering equipment and supplies
* Reviews charts, conducts patient recruitment and retention, follows study procedures
* Establishes and maintains research databases, completes accurate EDC entry
* Conducts preparation and maintenance of regulatory documents
* Conducts [reparation and submission of grants and research manuscripts
* Monitors research budgets/update clinical summary sheet
* Develops research questionnaires and related documents
* Prepares local IRB submissions (initial, annual, amendment, etc.)
* Phlebotomy, ECG, PK samples (various time schedule), centrifuge, order supplies, shipments
* Attends investigators meeting
* Trains en try staff and assists as needed
* All other duties as assigned
Requirements
* Must possess a high school diploma or GED
* Must possess a Bachelor's Degree
* 2 years experience preferred
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) a plus.
* Experience with clinical/patient interactions a plus
