Overview:

Reporting to, and working under the direct supervision of, an Environmental Services Supervisor, the Associate I helps to ensure patient safety and customer satisfaction by providing timely and thorough cleaning services to keep Hospital in orderly, sanitary and attractive condition. Provides thorough and efficient cleaning services to a wide variety of areas including but not limited to: inpatient areas, clinical exam rooms, operating rooms, pharmacies, MRI rooms, offices, conference rooms, restrooms, utility rooms, and corridors. Keeps equipment and supplies in a safe and clean condition. Cleans assigned areas using specified products while following established procedures. Uses interpersonal skills effectively to communicate to customers, co-workers and supervisors, as appropriate. Maintains professional conduct at all times. Channels customer complaints to others, as appropriate. Provides outstanding customer service while interacting with patients and visitors, at all times. Completes and submits repair work order requests as needed for equipment, work areas (e.g. EVC closets), assigned areas (e.g. patient rooms), ORs, pharmacies, offices, restrooms, public areas (e.g. hallways and lobbies), etc. Ensures EVC PAR level of supplies at the beginning and end of shift for EVC closets in assigned area(s).

Hours: Monday-Friday 7a-3:30p with rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

Waste removed, trash cans disinfected and liners replaced in a timely manner so that trash receptacles are not over filled. Dusts and vacuums surfaces prior to disinfection/cleaning.

Properly dilutes and uses germicidal solution to clean and disinfect all surfaces per Duty List following all universal cleaning procedures and infection control policies.

All patient room floors except carpeted areas, should be damp mopped with germicidal solution per Duty List to prevent the spread of infection. PPE is utilized and disposed of according to posted signage.

All carpeted floor areas, should be vacuumed per Duty List. Cubical curtains are removed, replaced, disinfected or laundered as needed. Window drapes are disinfected or removed and cleaned as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Six (6) months of continuous employment is required.

Requires the ability to work weekends.
