The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a Mechanical Assembler to work at a company located in the Hagerstown, MD area!

Pay/hours for position
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 7 am to 3:30 pm
Requirements of position
  1. 2 yrs. experience, desired in light rail or transportation environment.
  2. Experience in installation of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  3. Requires a thorough understanding of assembly build practices and procedures.
  4. Must have good mathematical skills.
  5. Knowledge of mechanical torque, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  6. Must own and maintain a basic hand tool set.
  7. Experience in precision measuring equipment i.e., caliper, micrometer, pie tape, etc. Job Description
  8. Must have experience working within and maintaining a safe work environment.
  9. Experience with working in diverse and busy team environments.
  10. Ability to read and understand drawings, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure and against deadlines.
  12. Attention to quality control and customer service.
  13. Ability to work with minimum supervision
  14. Self-motivated and ability to multi-task
Responsibilities of position
  1. Following a pre-established schedule for the installation of equipment on transit vehicles including those associated with propulsion, trucks, pneumatic supply and brake control, air conditioning, fiberglass panels, glass, flooring, doors as required to achieve manufacturer specifications.
  2. Uses precision measuring devices in the course of the work.
  3. Measures and inspects completed work to confirm adherence to specifications.
  4. Record all findings accurately in provided Test Reports, for inclusion into Car History Books that follow each completed vehicle such as torque values, part and serial numbers.
  5. Performs modifications to rail vehicle as directed by engineering and supervisory staff.
  6. Reads and interprets engineering drawings, manuals and work orders.
  7. Documents work performed and parts and materials used; follows specified safety procedures.
  8. May perform welding and burning.
  9. Using and maintaining hand and power tools equipment of the trade.
  10. Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
