We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a permanent role offering a unique opportunity to play a crucial part in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Execute monthly close procedures and deliverables including journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.
• Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports and projections on all financial aspects.
• Ensure compliance with GASB, IRS guidelines, and relevant federal and state laws, town ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide support in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
• Participate in the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as necessary.
• Act as a key point of contact for financial and accounting matters, providing guidance and advice to management and other staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficient in financial reporting, accounting, and financial analysis.
• Sound knowledge of GASB and GAAP.
• Familiarity with IRS guidelines and relevant federal and state laws, town ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
