Humboldt Park Health is Hiring a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) / VP Of Patient Care Services Near Chicago, IL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Identifies and articulates the vision and strategic direction for the development of high quality nursing care consistent with the hospitals mission, vision, and values.
  2. Creates a nursing environment in which collaboration is valued and excellence in clinical care and education is promoted and achieved. Takes responsibility for the practice of nursing and ensures consistency in the standard of practice across clinical settings.
  3. Leads quality and patient safety efforts.
  4. Provides leadership and direction in the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellence in nursing.
  5. Manages costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs.
  6. Develops and manages the nursing services budget and ensures sufficient number of qualified staff to assess patient needs.
  7. Provides leadership and direction for clinical programs and services, assuring the appropriate resources for the delivery of clinical care. Maintains current knowledge of patient care delivery systems and innovations.
  8. Actively participates in the hospital's strategic meetings to enhance and improvise operational performances.
  9. Ensures staff is clinically competent and trained on their role in patient safety, performance improvement, and risk management.
  10. Collaborates with physicians, administrative and other hospital staff involved in health and patient-care activities.
  11. Coordinates and monitors the regulatory compliance at the State and Federal levels; as well as preparing for and participating in Joint Commission and hospital license surveys.
  12. Responsible for the provision of nursing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A registered nurse is immediately available for provision of bedside care of any patient.
  13. Exercises final authority over staff who provide nursing care, treatment, and services.
  14. Implements an effective, ongoing program to measure, analyze, and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment, and services.
  15. Develops hospital wide programs, policies, and procedures that address how nursing care needs of the patient population are assessed, met, and evaluated.
