NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the VP, Software Engineering Digital, the VP, Software Engineering Web Platform serves as the software engineering leader for Web Platform Products This role leads the team accountable for the architecture, development and delivery of innovative and high-quality customer-facing direct channel platform and drive the growth and guest satisfaction of Marriotts flagship direct channel. Follows and provides input to standard application development tools and processes to promote project quality for client-facing and property-facing systems. This position manages day-to-day relationships with global information technology teams to promote client satisfaction with all technology teams and business partners. Implements and manages continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and ExperienceRequired:12 years of application architecture and development leadership experience, including:Direct experience leading technology teams in defining, creating and supporting enterprise-scale consumer websites with strong knowledge of hospitality industry best practicesDirect experience in architecture and migration of multi-billion revenue generating web platforms to modern web technologiesDemonstrated experience in Agile development methodologies, specifically with large-scale initiatives and geographically distributed teamsDirect management of cross-functional, sourced, and matrixed teamsManagement of complex budgets in excess of $25-50M direct and indirect costsDemonstrated digital thought leadership commensurate with the scale of Marriott digital propertiesDemonstrated enterprise technology leadership experience in hospitality, travel or retail industryDemonstrated experience with the following technologies:GraphQL, SPA Architecture, Couchbase technologies, Swift, Kotlin, API Gateways, BLE, MVVM Patterns, React & React-Native, & Headless CMSPreferred:Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformationsProven executive experience in strategic planning and budgeting within one or more business groupsExperience with and knowledge of IT outsourcing activities in a managed services environmentProven knowledge of SDLC;
