Responsibilities
  • Finger on the pulse of the market and customer demands
    • What do customers need and what are their pain points and how should these needs be met?
    • Define and own the customer experience for Home Charging, Public Charging, and Bi-Directional Charging
    • How can Ford differentiate and best serve our customers?
  • Conceptualize, Define, and Prioritize Products
    • Own the end-to-end vision, strategy, and roadmap for Electrified Vehicle Charging Experiences including Public Charing, Home Charging, and Bi-Directional Charging
    • Partner with charging infrastructure providers including Tesla, Electrify America, and others to provide Ford Customers with the best Public Charging experience.
    • Set and drive the product roadmap to bring your vision to life, working with our partners in design and engineering.
    • Systematic approach to managing and prioritizing work, including balancing the backlog and new products, evaluating choices based on Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort.
    • Balance tactical short-term needs with strategic direction and priorities.
  • Partner throughout the organization to get the right work delivered
    • Partner with the Model e business teams to deliver Grid and Energy Services solutions
    • Partner with Design and Tech Strategy to inform new vehicle and tech product plans with upcoming product experiences and services strategy.
  • Test Features and Products
    • Own product prototyping to tell the story of the products you are building.
    • Define success for your products and instrument the product to learn directly from use.
    • Partner with Engineering and the Global Data, Insights, and Analytics Team to deliver product instrumentation and dashboards.
  • Develop and implement a feedback cycle that delivers consistent improvements
    • Conduct customer research to inform product plans.
    • Consolidate internal knowledge on the customer and prior products.
    • Report status to and manage concerns from executive Ford stakeholders.
  • Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to benefit the organization.
  • Manage and develop a high performing team of product managers to execute the above
Qualifications
The minimum requirements we seek
• Bachelor's degree
• 7-10 years as a product manager or in a product role, having shipped successful products in the past with proven experience in translating key customer experiences into Product requirements.
• 7-10 years people-management experience of product managers, and deep knowledge of how to mentor and level up teams of product managers.
• A passion for Electric Vehicles and the ecosystem supporting great EV experiences. You are an avid Electrification User and have deep expertise in all things EV.
• Passion for serving customers, using data to enable smart decision making, and driving product improvements powered by customer feedback
• Experience bringing to life embedded vehicle and mobile software experiences
• Superior communication and persuasion skills; ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs to tell a compelling story, derived from data to deliver recommendations for business action.
• Proven relationship building and collaboration skills; ability to influence and drive outcomes in large, matrixed, and complex organizations; ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders including small to large teams of technical experts.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, hustle, persistence, and resilience; methodical thinker with ability to thrive on and drive change while navigating ambiguity.
• Track record of solving tough problems and delivering working solutions throughout career
Our preferred requirements
• Master's degree in engineering, design, business, or related field
• Expert in the AC and DC Electrified Vehicle Public Charging infrastructure, the key players operating in markets around the world, and the opportunities to improve the customer experience.
• Software engineering/delivery expertise, especially in vehicle Infotainment systems, charging systems, and mobile applications for automotive customers
• Digital design expertise for automotive applications, electrification digital design specific experience is a plus
