Role Overview:

JMA Resources, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Cloud Engineer to assist our client move from a legacy software development environment to industry best practices for rapid, secure software development, specifically using Agile Scrum practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • N/A

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a cloud operation model.
  • Deploy and operate scalable and resilient cloud-based systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the CI/CD Pipeline using the DEVSECOPS approach.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment per the Access Control Plan. 
    • Manage mission owner Active Directory Domain.
  • Collaboration with developers and programs to obtain requirements.
  • Repair and recover from software and process failures.
  • Design, implement, and maintain dev, test, and production environments.
  • Create documentation processes for code promotion.
  • Develop documentation and standard operating procedures (SOP) as required for applicable environments.
  • Responsible for Cybersecurity and security posture across all cloud systems according to organizational policies.
    • This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, maintaining the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Computer Network Defense (CND) Directives, and all other DoD/Navy Cybersecurity instructions as they become applicable, such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), to keep NADACS systems in compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain the cloud environment, including, but not limited to, operational processes, Security Information and Event Management (SEIM), audit checks, capacity, and services.
  • Operate within an agile life cycle environment.
  • Migrate on-prem systems to the cloud when applicable.
  • Establish Application Programming Interfaces where required.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure continuous availability and accessibility of resources.
  • Integrate and operate cloud environments for multiple applications, including monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and monitor enterprise-level integrations of networking and security monitoring.
  • Create functional test plans for all new initiatives.
  • Remediate or mitigate vulnerability and compliance findings.
  • Conduct OS and application STIG remediation activities in accordance with established standards and cybersecurity audit readiness plan.
  • Install, manage, and maintain application software in accordance with established standards and hosting facility preventative maintenance vulnerability management plan.
  • Manage system/server resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability of Unix/Windows systems for production and development, test, and COOP platforms.
    • Request and manage certificates and provide certificates to the hosting facility when required.
  • Provide Tier 3 help desk support as needed.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Notify the Program Manager/Project Manager and/or designated representative of systems degradations or issues.
  • Complete After Action Reports (AAR) for all abnormal operations or other required reporting for system incidents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Clearance Level:

  • Current or ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
    • Note:
      • To obtain a security clearance, you must be a US citizen and meet the 13 adjudicative guidelines.
      • Top Secret requires a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).

Required Experience:

  • 5 years of Cloud Engineering experience.

Education Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a technical major, such as computer science, information systems, operations research, mathematics, statistics, or engineering is desired.

Required Certifications:

  • Current CompTIA Security , willingness to obtain it within two weeks of start, or one of the following:
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate-Security (CCNA-Security)
    • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
    • Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA )
    • GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
    • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
  • One of the following:
    • Current AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
    • Current AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
    • Current AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

Location & Commitments:

  • Full-time remote position.
  • Will require travel to various client sites when needed for client support.
  • Hours are based on the client, usually Monday-Friday between 8-5 p.m. EST.
