TITLE: Teacher - Physical Education

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide a quality physical education program that motivates students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for a lifetime of physical activity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor Degree
2. Arizona Elementary or Secondary Teacher certification with Physical Education K-12 endorsement (required)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach the district-approved physical education program to assigned students.
• Coordinate public relations efforts; demonstrate and interpret the physical education program to the community.
• Work with the school and district administrators overseeing the physical education program.
• Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
• Create a positive environment for learning through effective classroom management and sound teaching techniques.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and personalize instruction whenever possible.
• Maintain accurate grades and records for compliance with district federal and state guidelines.
• Communicate with parents through conference and other means to discuss pupil progress and interpret the district physical education program.
• Maintain a learning environment that enables students to learn skills and safely participate in activities.
• Actively participate in meaningful role modeling and lesson activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
