Major Job Function
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervision of Youth Football Program. Plan, prepare & deliver exceptional youth football sports leagues to meet the City of North Mankato's mission and values. Serve the residents of North Mankato and attract new members and participants.
2. Event Coordination. Assist with the development of youth football events. Ensure sites have needed equipment before games and practices begin and that equipment is taken down at the end of the day. Collaborate with the Culture, Recreation, and Quality of Life Director and the Parks and Recreation Coordinator to coordinate facility use to maximize venues' use.
3. Registration and Sports Programming Participation. Develop annual participation and registration goals. Increase participation in youth football events. Maintain and improve program participation. Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of youth football programming performances and implement program changes and enhancements as needed
4. Maintenance of Facilities. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of sports facilities, ensuring any unclean conditions, safety hazards, and malfunctioning equipment are addressed and appropriate action is taken to maintain and improve the facilities.
5. Interpersonal Relations. Must be consistent in dealing with people; must be sensitive to others' problems and concerns without direct involvement. Must exclude personal biases from work performance; must have the ability to accept criticism and/or discipline; must have tact and diplomacy; must strive to promote a cooperative atmosphere and have a positive attitude.
6. Professional Attitude. Must commit to the organization, willingness to take the initiative, dependability, maturity in relationships with others, and self-confidence. Must represent the organization to other agency staff and citizens with a courteous, helpful, accurate, and business-like attitude in all telephone and personal contact.
7. Other Duties as Assigned.
Minimum Requirements for Position

High school diploma or GED. Two years experience in event coordination, recreation management, or facility management.
Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree with an emphasis on Parks and Recreation, Event Management, and Turf Management. Three to five years of experience in Event Coordination or Facility Management.
Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment involves exposure to dust, dirt,
gases, fumes, chemicals, noise, excessive noise, vibration, infectious disease, and moving objects. This position involves inside work, outside work, and work on uneven ground. The position is exposed to heat, cold, and wetness. Position includes approximately 4 hours of sitting, 2 hours of standing, and 2 hours of walking per day. Activities that infrequently occur up to 60 minutes per day include: talking, hearing, and utilization of depth perception, visual accommodation, and color vision. The following physical activities occur occasionally 1 to 3 hours per day: use of the right foot, left foot, or both feet simultaneously for repetitive movements. Activities that frequently occur 4 to 7 hours per day are fine manipulation of fingers and utilization of near vision and far vision.
EXAMPLES OF EQUIPMENT UTILIZED: Use of communication, radio, telephone, and adding machine. Position does require the operation of an automobile.
