POSITION OVERVIEW The purpose of the Software Quality Assurance Engineer II is to work with Gentex engineering teams to ensure product development processes are followed and work products meet quality requirements. The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will also develop, update, maintain and monitor processes to ensure compliance to Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination (SPICE). WHAT YOU’LL DO Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for performing quality assurance activities. Identify, record and communicate non-conformances of work products, processes and process activities to engineering. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure non-conformances are resolved in a timely manner and prevent recurrence. Define, collect and report on software metrics and collaborate with the team to define strategies for continuous improvement. Collaborate with the team to develop, update, maintain and monitor processes to ensure compliance to Automotive SPICE. Manage internal and external Automotive SPICE assessments, including customer audits. Other duties as assigned. HOW YOU’LL DO IT Detail oriented: Ensuring information is complete and accurate; following up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled. Diagnostic Information Gathering: Identifying the information needed to clarify a situation, seeking that information from appropriate sources, and using skillful questioning to draw out the information. Technical expertise: Demonstrating depth of knowledge and skill in a technical area. Interpersonal savvy: Relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people. Ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with others. Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters. Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace. WHAT TO BRING 4-year degree in engineering. 5 years of experience in software development or software quality assurance, product design or related role. 5 years of experience in quality system management, quality compliance and internal/external audit processes. Experience in the automotive industry, specifically related to Automotive SPICE and/or CMMI requirements. WHAT WILL HELP Certified provisional Assessor Automotive SPICE® or higher. Experience working with software development standards (ASPICE, DO178C, ISO26262, CMMI). Willing to travel as required.
