About the Job:
The Senior Manager, Project Portfolio Management will have primary responsibility to serve as the bridge between strategic goals and project execution. This role is responsible for overseeing and governing all projects and programs within the Technology Project Portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, compliance with project governance, and successful delivery through the Odyssey project Stage Gate model.
In this role you will:
  • Facilitate the end-to-end project intake process, governing the appropriate level of detail for the review boards to make informed decisions.
  • Produce portfolio status and performance reports, on a regular cadence, to communicate overall project and investment health across the technology ecosystem.
  • Partner with Business Relationship Managers to maintain awareness of upcoming Technology initiatives from the business, as well as any material emerging risks and issues.
  • Responsible for governing projects throughout the Technology Project Portfolio, and shepherding initiatives through the Odyssey Project Stage Gate framework.
  • Partner with Technology Business Management to govern and mature our Capital Projects program and governance.
  • Work alongside the Director of the Technology PMO to mature our project management practice.
  • Act as an escalation point for project managers, when critical issues arise, and supporting the team to resolution.
  • When necessary, coach all project managers regarding Odyssey Project Management process and procedures.
  • Support the Project teams in the mitigation of issues and risks impacting successful delivery.
  • Be an evangelist for Continual Process Improvement.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field, or equivalent certifications and work experience
  • 8 years of experience leading traditional projects implementing complex technical solutions.
  • 5 years of experience working within a hybrid Agile software delivery environment.
  • 5 years of experience leading cross-functional and dispersed project teams.
  • 2 years of experience forecasting and tracking project financials.
  • 2 years of experience communicating with business and technology executive leadership.
  • Strong strategic decision making & forward-thinking planning abilities to manage resources and deliverables. Broad knowledge of project management techniques, processes, methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and escalate challenges.
  • Experience in the supply chain industry a plus.
Location: This is an in-office role in Charlotte, NC.
