Description
Assures smooth operation of the Cardiovascular Lab by appropriately scheduling patients and physician appointments. The clerical tasks and responsibilities performed must focus on accuracy, appearance, quality, appropriateness, completeness, professionalism, and technical proficiency. These clerical tasks include patient and family interaction by phone and in person, business correspondence, monthly reports, graphs, and transferring medical data via computer. Is also responsible for assisting with patient care needs as a certified nursing assistant under the direction of the registered nurse. Has access to patient health information in regards to demographics, billing, and clerical data relevant to the current encounter. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent.
Current listing as a CNA with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation in good standing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Medical Terminology is preferred.
Completion of a Unit Secretary Course, Medical Terminology Course, or Unit Secretary experience is highly desired.
Proficiency in the use of computers and business software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher with proficient keyboarding skills. Ability to operate standard office machines/equipment.
Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test for the position to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift patients with assistance or assistive devices. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
Requires visual acuity and hearing.
