Title: Engineering Operations Training and Process Manager

Department: Engineering

Location: Urbandale, Iowa or Columbus, Ohio

Reports To: Vice President of Service Operations

Job Summary:

In the role of Engineering Operations Process Manager, you will develop and document Engineering processes and facilitate both classroom and virtual training for enablement of our Engineering departments and team members. This role will train both technical and soft-skills courses. This role will document already developed processes, while also participating in the development of new and/or improvement processes. The goal for this position is to provide a common and clear understanding of Engineering processes, helping to ensure that geographically separated teams and team members are working within standard processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and eventually lead the development, documentation, and enablement as related to Engineering team tools, processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding training, as related to Engineering tools and processes.
  • Coordinate and deliver timely and relevant training sessions for new hires and current employees as necessary to support our continuous improvement and employee enablement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update a repository of user guides and training materials for various Engineering tools, systems, and procedures.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of Engineering training programs to enhance course delivery, based on feedback from team members.
  • Manage training records and documentation for Engineering team members.
  • Management of Engineering Teams’ use of Pluralsight (Online Training platform), effective completion of individual team member training programs. Coordination with Team Managers and Leads to ensure schedules are being set and followed by team members.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the full IP Pathways team, bridging gaps between internal teams and geographically separated team members to ensure cohesive communications and consistent results.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert from an internal tools, controls, and process
  • Participate in the creation of periodic internal informational communications to help keep IP Pathways team members, who are outside of the Engineering team, updated on new policies, procedures, trainings, etc.
  • Participate with Leadership in ongoing review of processes and procedures, providing ongoing suggestions for continuous improvement, as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous training experience is preferred. 
  • Process development and documentation experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with any of the following tools/systems is preferred: ConnectWise, LogicMonitor, Acronis, Patch Management solutions, Backup solutions, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to conduct training and development needs analysis for projects, individuals, and departments.
  • Ability to design and facilitate training sessions in-person and online for both individuals and
  • Ability to develop course curriculums and related material such as job aids, computer tutorials, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to document sometimes complex procedures in a way that is easily consumed and understood by all team members.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
