Position Title Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center Student Coordinator If part time, projected hours (per week) 10-20 Job Description
Marshall Wellness Student Coordinators are responsible for leading specific elements of Marshall Wellness Center programs, facilities and services. These areas include, but are not limited to, marketing and promotions, student staff development, facility operations, intramural and recreational sports, fitness, and wellness. Student Coordinators supervise teams of students that create, deliver and evaluate programs, services and facilities. The Student Coordinator serves a leadership function on campus, assisting with Student Services events such as Move-In, New Student Orientation and campus-wide programming events. Student Coordinators must maintain a positive attitude at all times and demonstrate high standards of professional conduct.
Duties
Under supervision of full-time staff,
* Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate a team of students charged with creating and delivering programs and services and/or managing facilities at the Marshall Wellness Center and across campus, as needed.
* Provide training and onboarding to new students within the coordinator's scope of work.
* Evaluate student-employee job performance.
* Collaborate with student organizations and cohorts across campus in the development of engagement activities for students.
* Assist with the planning and execution of student employee all-staff training each semester, and as-needed throughout the semester.
Campus Location Council Bluffs Required Qualifications
Qualifications: Must be an enrolled student eligible for Federal Work Study determined by Financial Aid application or eligible for student employment.
Prior experience in the area of assignment is preferred.
Employment opportunities: This is a fall/spring position. Summer employment may be available.
Evaluation procedures & schedules: To be determined by the supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use a phone. Occasional lifting of 10 lbs., reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, and a high degree of problem solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred.
