Job Summary:
Work with senior engineers to design mechanical subsystems for vacuum systems for deposition and
thermal applications. Understand broad initial concepts of the subsystems and relate subsystem
specification to the overall specification. Complete detailed design while verifying intermediate
design steps with senior engineers. Verify that the subsystem meets its technical/cost
specifications. Hands on transition of designs from CAD through manufacturing and integration.
Capable of 3D design of simple parts. ECO Design. Travel to customers as needed. Works with
machine shops, pulleys, belts, motors, machined aluminum parts, frames, steel, and pumps.

Minimum Requirements:

• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
• Coursework: Mechanical design, Statics, Dynamics, Material Science, Heat transfer, Fluid
Mechanics
• Ability to present to the group a completed mechanical design project
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software
• Willing to take on new tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Desired To Have Experience:
• Coursework in finite element analysis, elasticity, solid mechanics
• Senior project or internship experience with vacuum systems or complex mechanical design
• Senior project or internship experience with transport systems, motors, and pulleys
• Hands on experience with building mechanical assemblies

Requirements:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Detail oriented
• Good communication skills written and verbal US Person status (Green Card at minimum).
