Due to continued growth and vertical integration, we have an opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Equipment Service Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel, as required, to provide installation assistance and customer troubleshooting. Collaborate with Engineering/Lab/Sales to ensure the customer is qualified and prepared to operate our equipment.
• Understand all technical documentation and assist in its preparation (manuals).
• Perform internal machine assembly and checkout.
• Work in lab or with customer trials, as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic issues to identify root cause of problem.
• Train customer personnel on the safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Document all service activities including maintenance records, customer feedback, and opportunities for machine improvement.
• Stay current with industry advancements by attending training programs and work shops.
• Operate CNC machinery when time permits.

Experience and Skills Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and additional technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.
• Two or more years proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar Technician, preferably in the extrusion or related manufacturing industry.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with extrusion processes, equipment, and related components (e.g. extruders, dies, cooling systems, controls, etc.)
• Ability to use various hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to use measuring instruments, including line bore equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to issue resolution.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work independently in various customer locations.
