Responsibilities and Expectations:
Southland, an IPS Company, is looking for talented candidates to join our internship program at the Burlington Service Center. This is a temporary, full-time, paid internship throughout the Summer. Interns will be expected to work 40 hours a week. This position will provide high-school and/or secondary students the opportunity to pursue a career in industrial services.
As an Intern at IPS, you will be immersed in a dynamic learning environment that encourages curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving. You'll have the chance to work alongside seasoned professionals who have a wealth of experience of power distribution and low voltage motor control. You'll be exposed to a wide range of activities that will shape your skill set and pave the way for a promising future in the industry.
What type of training will you receive?
Internships provide support for targeted one-on-one learning. Someone is always available to answer your questions, show you how to perform a skill, and help you perfect techniques. You will have direct access to mentors, coaches, and colleagues who can help address your knowledge gaps, maximize your strengths, use specific instruction from your studies, and instantly apply it to real-world experience. We teach our interns skills aimed at the specific needs of our business and train you to meet specific industry and company standards. We ensure desired results by customizing apprentice duties and directing knowledge and outcomes, resulting in highly skilled employees.
