Position: Hardware Engineer III
Location: Sunnyvale, CA - (Onsite)
Summary:
The main function of a hardware engineer is to validate, debug and root cause EMVCo L1 certification tests and related issues. A typical hardware engineer in this area is responsible to execute tests, chase and rectify test equipment issues and generate a solid test report.
Job Responsibilities:
• Gather test requirements for hardware and software functions
• Validate test setup using reference device and debug failures
• Execute EMVCo L1 certification tests and maintain clear reports and give execution updates
• Debug test failures on device under test, work with FW and HW team to root cause issue and clearly document corrective actions
• Work with external partners and 3rd party labs to complete formal certification
• Provide equipment training and support to RF, System and FW teams
Skills:
• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Knowledge of EMVCo L1 certification requirements
• Knowledge of EMVCo administrative processes
• Understanding of Analogue and digital test cases
• Familiarity with NFC / EMVCo test equipment
