$18.80 per hour

The Laboratory Animal Technician will focus on overall animal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders, facility upkeep and recordkeeping and procedural duties. The person in this role will need to feel passionate about working with animals, enjoy and excel at organization, and support and maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment.

• Cares for animals including feeding and cleaning responsibilities
• Follows protocol to ensure the health and welfare of the animals in care
• Inoculation and administration of doses to animals
• Collection of tissues and biological samples from laboratory animals
• Maintains responsibility for sanitation of the animal buildings, cages and support areas
• Desire to work with and care for animals on a daily basis
• Continuous effort toward contributing to a clean and safe working environment
• Ability and willingness to complete paperwork as needed
• Must be available to work weekends/ holidays on a rotating basis
• Willingness to work overtime when needed

• Ability to push, pull lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Stand/walk for extended period of time
• Fine manipulation including handle touch object or tools and ability to handle controls to perofrm work
• Frequently bend, reach, push, pull squat and lift
• Desire to work with and care for animals on a daily basis
• Continuous effort toward contributing to a clean and safe working environment
• Able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently
• Able to follow sterile entry procedures and maintain neat, clean and safe conditions.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures
• Effectively work with peers, leadership, and stakeholders in a productive collaborative environment
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the persons relevant experience and/or education level.
