The City of Vancouver is Hiring a Vancouver Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Temporary Weight Room Attendant Near Vancouver, WA

Salary Range
$16.28 - $19.84 Job Summary
Vancouver Parks and Recreation is looking for enthusiastic candidates that are skilled in working with all ages and abilities in a fitness environment. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the weight room, customers, cleaning, general equipment orientation and implementing fitness center policies. Experience in this field, as well as exceptional customer service and problem solving is desired. Job locations include Firstenburg Community Center and Marshall Community Center. Job Details
Essential Functions:
  • Communicate and work well with all ages, abilities of customer and team of City employees
  • Administer equipment safety orientations
  • Assist in providing a safe program and environment for participants and staff, including some heavy lifting
  • Understand and implement City of Vancouver Parks and Recreation Department operating principles and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required through assigned program
Qualifications
Experience
  • Previous work or volunteer experience or training in assigned program
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
  • Current CPR/First Aid card required within 30 days of employment
  • Additional training/certification as required by department or position
Abilities
  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with the public, program participant and other city employees
  • Interact well with a diverse group of program participants
  • Read, write and follow instructions
  • Monitor compliance policies and procedures
