Providing personal and companion care at Dungarvin, you will have the ability to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.Job DescriptionThis is a position that provides a personalized blend of IHS services that focus on the support and skill development a person needs to maintain and/or increase their independence. Staff will work in both community and in-home settings. Staff will work with multiple persons served and will need a reliable vehicle to drive to and from shifts and be able to transport Persons Served. In this position you will have the opportunity to: Assist individuals in a 1:1 in-home setting as you support them in pursuing a happy, healthy, and more independent life.Provide skill development in areas including but not limited to: community participation, health, safety and wellness, household management and adaptive skills.Attend team meetings, write progress reports, and assist supervisors in maintaining consistency in service provision and communication with support team members.Create lasting, positive impacts on peoples' lives through coaching, mentoring, and encouraging others to reach their goals.Full time and part-time schedules.QualificationsAssociates in relevant field OR two years equivalent experience in working with developmentally disabled and/or mental illness, as determined by the supervisor. FUN FACT: Our founders Tim Madden (24 years old) and Diane (23 years old) decided to start a business that would provide community housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through diligent research and planned Tim and Diane officially opened their first 15 person residential program in St. Paul, Minnesota in March 1976. Tim and Diane were the live-ins for that first program and they have continued their leadership of the organization since. Through the success of that program Dungarvin has grown to employ approximately 4,000 people who currently provide supports to over 4,712 individuals across 14 states.
