We are looking for a highly motivated Civil Engineer who is passionate about the land development process to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role you will work in close partnership with construction Project Managers to complete land development design, planning and permitting for Design/Build projects.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Research and collect site specific information to initiate the land development process
  • Design and draft land development concept plans for various commercial construction projects (such as multifamily residential, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and industrial)
  • Perform site investigative due diligence and work with contracting team to value engineer sites
  • Prepare schematic site and grading & utility plans to illustrate site developability based on site constraints
  • Perform storm water detention analysis, site utility design, and earth work analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability
  • Act as a subject matter expert for project managers and junior associates and train team on best practices
  • Meet with customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team
  • Develop and manage relationships with external surveying, due diligence, and landscape architecture consultants
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 years of hands-on land development experience in an Engineering Firm
  • PE certification or ability to obtain in 6 months

  • Experience with light industrial construction preferred
  • Computer skills: proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
