What Is a Fleet Maintenance MechanicWe are looking for a proactive employee to provide customer service and support to our internal and external customers. Some responsibilities are:
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for needed repairs; perform minor repairs as required.
- Lubricate automotive and power-driven equipment with the use of air pressure and lubrication tools.
- Drain and refill crankcases; inspect and fill gearboxes with lubricants; replace lubricant fittings; maintain lubrication records; maintain lubrication stock and replace as necessary.
- Repair and maintenance of shuttle buses.
- Inspect, charge, and replace batteries.
- Change and repair tires.
- Make minor mechanical adjustments to automotive equipment.
- May assist Equipment Mechanic in mechanical overhaul and repair work.
- Maintain necessary records of time, materials, and parts used.
- Pack and replace wheel bearings.
- Repair and overhaul brakes, ignition, electrical, transmission, differentials, and hydraulic systems; inspect, repair, overhaul, and assemble automotive electrical equipment such as generators, distributors, magnetos, and starters.
