Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children’s and family programs. IF currently has 13 facilities with 22 micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.
Job Description
The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting clients to and from appointments and move-in
destinations. Maintaining the maintenance of vehicles as needed. Being the voice between management and staff at the Stanton MSC.
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. This position also qualifies for shift differential of $1.00 for swing shift and $2.00 for graveyard shift.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review all transport.
- Coordinate and manage time to ensure all Clients arrive at their appointments on time.
- Confirm wake up times for early transport.
- Check the vehicle prior to transport to ensure the vehicle has gas, emergency kit and water.
- Ensure all Clients being transported who will be off-site during perspective mealtimes have the appropriate meal with them.
- Ensure all Clients being transported have the necessary prescribed meds with them for the period scheduled to be off-site.
- Log all mileage in the transport log.
- Notify supervisors regarding any issues during transport.
- Assist clients with all immediate needs for daily living and maintain facility upkeep.
Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years minimum of customer service/ relevant experience
- Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
- Basic computer skills, including sending and receiving emails and summarizing data in spreadsheets.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
