Eligible Special Selection clients should contact their Disability Counselor for assistance.DESCRIPTION The Director of Transplant Clinical Operations is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for the clinical transplant programs (Kidney, Liver, Heart, Lung, VAD, Living Donor, and Organ Allocation and Transplant Recovery Teams). This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position's major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, and human resource management. The Clinical Operations Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating activities across the enterprise, including collaborating with Medical and Surgical Directors across transplant programs. The Clinical Operations Director serves as the programmatic and operational leader and reports to the Executive Director for the Center for Transplantation.Key Responsibilities:* Develops and implements operational processes focused on high quality transplant services and the coordination of care across multiple, complex departments/units.* Responsible for regulatory compliance and reporting. Ensures compliance with internal policies, state and federal regulations and requirements. Oversees process for accreditation and other surveys, data submission and verification activities.* Develops and oversees a continuous quality improvement program for transplant division consistent with federal and state guidelines, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement plan.* Directs and ensures coordination across medical center departments and/or clinics.* Provides guidance to subordinate managers with human resources issues. Responsible for recruitment, performance management, professional development, performance evaluation and corrective action. Collaborates with Labor Relations on bargaining unit issues and ensures compliance with labor contracts.* Instills strong management practices to create a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and timely achievement of objectives and goals.* Directs staff education programs. Works with clinical educators and leadership to evaluate core competencies in clinical care.* Participates in system-wide committees and strategic planning with senior leaders across services to develop plans that improve health care delivery and the coordination and / or integration of clinical services. Participates in national committees focusing on advancing the field of transplantation (UNOS and other professional associations)* Builds and maintains strategic partnerships across the system and in the community at large to facilitate the achievement of strategic goals and objectives.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.* Active California RN license.* Eight or more years of clinical experience, including experience as a transplant coordinator.* Five or more years of transplant leadership experience* At least one year of on-call transplant experience * Thorough understanding of CMS and UNOS policies.* Experience and knowledge of clinical and business operations of a clinical program.* Strong knowledge of process improvement and/or quality assurance practices.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Advanced degree in nursing, business or other relevant area.* Transplant Leadership Experience in cardiothoracic and abdominal transplant* Epic and Phoenix experienceSPECIAL CONDITIONS* Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.* Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $140,400 - $279,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $67.24 - $133.72Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
