Job Title:

Underground Utility / Pipe Layer

Location:

Ft. Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Hobe Sound, North Palm Beach

Compensation:

$22 - $26/hr. (based upon experience)

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Under the direction of the foreman, perform installation and repairs of water, sanitary sewer, force main, storm drainage pipe, etc.

- Read and interpret construction drawings, including a detailed understanding of inverts, grades, slopes, trenches, backfilling, compaction, etc.

- Operate heavy machinery necessary to perform any installations.

- Firm understanding and ability to shoot grades.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Work in open excavations or trench boxes installing pipe and/or drainage structures

- Familiarity with standard safety procedures.

- Help crew members to clean-up job site after work is done, place temporary asphalt patches or concrete on streets as needed.

- Performs preventive maintenance by greasing, oiling and making minor repair on equipment.

- Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- 3 years’ experience in storm, water and/or sewer utilities.

- OSHA 10/30 preferred (but not required)

- Valid driver's license
