Description
The Hiller Companies, a national leader in the fire protection and security industry, is hiring qualified Marine Electrical Technicians to work with Fire Protection Systems.
Pay Range: $30/hour-$45/hour
Electrical Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, testing, repair, and installation of electronic equipment and associated components using product specifications and standard diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications:
- Prior marine, shipyard, offshore, or Fire Protection Experience
- Good mechanical and electrical skills, along with experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and the skill to perform layout and electrical equipment installations.
- Knowledge of electrical theory, marine wiring practices, and the ability to read cable and wire color codes to place wires with precision and hook-up required.
- Must be able to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and use electrical test equipment and hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge of test equipment. Must have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to lift and move equipment and tools with assistance weighing up to 300 lbs.
- Must comprehend written and verbal instructions and hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
- Knowledge of basic safety standards with the ability to learn codes and regulations associated with marine fire protection.
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Detail oriented and strong problem-solving skills.

Our personnel are NICET-certified and factory-trained by our key suppliers and we maintain DOT-approved hydrostatic testing, dry chemical, CO2, FM200 and Halon 1301 refill stations. Hiller also offers a variety of products and parts to support our customers. These products include portable and fixed fire extinguishers, hoses, hose reels, nozzles, foam and other material/equipment involved in fire detection and suppression. We also provide safety equipment such as gloves, fire resistant clothing, safety glasses, masks, air breathing apparatus and other similar items. These products are sold from inventory or shipped directly to our customers from our vendors. The following vendors we have on schedule include Ansul, Amerex, Kidde, Siemens, Survivair, Akron Brass and Gentex, just to name a few.
