Senior Program Specialist, Double Up Oklahoma

Position Title: Senior Program Specialist , Double Up Oklahoma
Supervisor: Senior Program Manager, Double Up Oklahoma
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary : $60,000-$68,000 commensurate with experience
Location: Oklahoma City or Tulsa Office (This position can be located in Tulsa or in Oklahoma City. We have posted the position in both locations, but will only hire one person.)

Hunger Free Oklahoma is seeking a mission driven Senior Program Specialist with project management and stakeholder management experience. The ideal person will be a creative problem-solver, have a high level of customer service knowledge, and pay close attention to the details.

WHO WE ARE

Hunger Free Oklahoma exists to leverage the power of collaboration to solve hunger in Oklahoma by improving systems, policies, and practices. Hunger Free Oklahoma is a statewide nonprofit established to work as a backbone organization to create systemic change, public/private partnerships, and collaborate with existing organizations addressing hunger.

The Double Up Oklahoma (DUO) Program matches SNAP spent at participating grocery stores and farmers markets $1 for $1 for fruits and vegetables to improve the food security, dietary quality, and health of low-income Oklahomans. For the past 3 years, 2021-2023, DUO has provided over $7 million in free fruits and vegetables to SNAP participants in Oklahoma.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Senior Program Specialist will report to the Senior Program Manager and be based in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. The role will evolve over time but the core responsibilities for this position will be:

  • Strategy and Stakeholder Management – Establish strong working relationships with DUO firms and partners to assess program needs and develop solutions and procedures to meet goals, requirements, and deadlines. Explore opportunities to expand DUO into more communities and develop new firm relationships.
  • Project Management Serve as the primary DUO administrator to the farmers market community, lead ongoing training and technical assistance and enhancements, and communicate programmatic information to partners clearly and regularly. Support DUO in grocery stores by coordinating preparatory meetings, conducting training prior to launch, and conduct ongoing technical assistance and marketing support to maintain the program. Analyze and comprehend basic program data and collect insights and stories for Double Up reports.
  • Outreach and Promotion – Represent DUO at firm launches and community events, respond to DUO inquiries, maintain the DUO website information, and support the development of new DUO resources to build community and customer awareness.
  • DUO Administration – Review monthly firm reports for accuracy, ensure invoices are processed and paid promptly. Document processes and procedures. Work closely with Senior Operations Specialist to maintain updated contracts and agreements, firm contact information, and other project documents and reports.

WHO YOU ARE
To qualify for this job, you will have a:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; OR 7 or more years of work experience in a directly applicable field; OR some combination or relevant education and experience; and
  • Background in program/project management, nonprofit management, community development, finance, health/nutrition, or agriculture

This position is full-time and based in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. This role requires the ability to independently travel to sites across Oklahoma up to 10% of working time (about 4 days/month) and occasionally work weekends during farmers market season (April to October). This role may also require occasional evening and weekend work to support events and programming. This position requires the ability to perform medium physical effort consisting of occasionally handling, lifting, or moving objects 20-30 pounds for handling resources and supplies, and to sit or stand to complete office-oriented work up to 8 hours a day.
