University at Albany is Hiring a Professional Development Coordinator - University at Albany Near Albany, NY

Job Description:

The Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of statewide education and training initiatives provided through a MOU between the NYSDOH and the University at Albany School of Public Health. They will lead the Center's efforts in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned training projects for the public health and health care workforce.

Essential Functions:

Lead and coordinate assigned training project(s) to assure quality programs that meet project-based deliverables on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

* Serving as the primary liaison with the NYSDOH and subject matter experts/instructors

* Preparing annual training schedules

* Working directly with subject matter experts to review, update and develop training curricula/content (including PPT slides, interactive components, materials and handouts)

* Developing/updating promotional materials and managing registration; tracking registration fees (as needed)

* Working with the CE Manager to secure/maintain continuing education credits (as needed)

* Producing live webinars including opening, closing and facilitation (instructors will deliver content)

* Maintaining email and phone communication with training registrants

* Coordinating evaluation efforts including needs assessments

* Coordinating with the Professional Development program to offer on-demand training (as needed)

* Preparing quarterly reports

* Additional responsibilities Proposal writing and/or grant writing

Other Functions

* Serve as a member of Continuing Education team in overall planning and organizational and process improvement

* Minimal travel will be required

* Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization in a health profession, nursing, health education, public health, human services, social work, adult education, or related field.

* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the coordination of a public health or human services-based training and professional development program.

* Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles/theory.

* Evidence of organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

* Experience producing webinars.

* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

* Ability to relate effectively to people from diverse backgrounds, including an understanding and respect for group/social differences (e.g., race/ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, and ability as well as cultural, political, religious, or other affiliations) and individual differences (e.g., personality, prior knowledge, and life experiences).

* Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred qualifications:

* Graduate degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in a health profession, nursing, health education, public health, human services, social work, adult education, or related field.

* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the coordination of a public health or human services-based training and professional development program

* Certified (or Master Certified) Health Education Specialist

* Experience delivering training to health professionals

* Experience working with state, local, and/or community-based agencies

* Experience leading a team of professionals to accomplish project-based deliverables.

* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.

* Professional staff supervision experience

Professional Rank and Salary Range: Senior Staff Assistant, SL3

* This position is temporary and eligible for annual renewal based on external funding.

* This position is eligible for telecommuting up to 50%
