Sawgrass Nutra Labs is hiring for a Pre Weigh/Blending Technician!
Currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated team member to assist our Material Handling Specialist with pre-weighing and blending of raw materials. The ideal candidate for this position will have material handling experience in the food and beverage industry, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.

Sawgrass Nutra Labs is a custom contract dietary supplements manufacturer committed to providing excellent customer service and meaningful transparency. At Sawgrass Nutra Labs, we work with brands of all sizes to custom blend dietary supplements, vitamins, and nutraceuticals in both capsules and liquids. We handle it all - ingredient sourcing, manufacturing, testing, certified cGMP production, labeling, packaging, warehousing, fulfillment, and shipping.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ingredient inspection upon receipt of materials​​​​​. Upon reception of raw materials from shipping trucks, all materials will undergo inspection. ​​​Individual packages will be picked and examined for organoleptic analysis as compared to the Certificate of Analysis (COA). The analysis will include the following:​​​​​​
  • Aroma
  • Visual Appearance
  • Texture
  • Taste​​​​​
  • Mass
• ​​​​​​Obtaining Retain Samples for Raw Material Ingredients
• Collection of materials for lab testing and retained samples
• Assist with the technical requirements of Product Development
• Control and maintain integrity of material stock quantities
• Verify room/batch readiness and room clearance
• Verify sanitation records of utensils prior to compounding
• Sanitize and use pre-mix containers as required
• Clean buckets, tanks, or ancillary equipment
• Accurately identify and record raw material by internal part numbers
• Correctly record material withdrawals/changes on inventory cards and batch records
• Perform and record scale calibrations
• Pre-weigh batches per Master Manufacturing Record (MMR) instructions
• Apply labels to containers to identify product/blends
• Load blending vessels with material
• Operate mixers per standard operating procedures to prevent contamination
• Conduct cleaning of blenders, impellers, product delivery tubes/hoses, fillers, hoppers, tanks, nozzles, drums, etc.​​​​
• Execute Cleaning Log Verification Program
• Assist in maintaining blending equipment and tools (adjustment/service/repair) in correct location ​
• Identify and understand quality criteria for task performance​​​​​
• Perform task in a manner that meets/exceeds quality criteria
• Identify quality concerns and cease operations until resolved​​​​
• Resolve and/or escalate quality issues within blending area ​​​​​
• Load/unload boxes of components, raw materials, etc.​​​​
• Operate manual pallet jack
• Load/unload 55-gal drums onto and off of pallets and roll into correct place, using assistance if required​​​​​
• Use floor scrubbing equipment​
• Other duties management deems necessary to support company activities

Job Qualifications:

• Attention to detail and ability to focus as needed on critical path items ​​
• Multitask - organize and/or control multiple jobs and multiple machines
• Basic math skills to understand weights, blending/mixing formulas, and track production quantities
• Ability to lift 50-70lbs and stand for long periods of time on a regular basis
