QUALIFICATIONS
·At least a bachelor’s degree in area of educationfrom an accredited four-year college/university
·Must be willing to be a member of amulti-disciplinary team focusing on the emotional and mental well-being ofschool aged students
·Must be willing to participate in a continuingeducation to build knowledge base and skill level
·Strong communication skills
·Adequate knowledge of student with Emotional andBehavioral Disorders
KNOWLEDGE OF
·The characteristics and various diagnoses ofstudent with Emotional and Behavioral disorders
·Familiarity with various assessment tools,methods and functional behavior assessments
·Data collection
·Principles, theories, practices and techniquesused in curriculum development and classroom instruction for students rangingfrom Kindergarten through 12th grade
·Curriculum and lesson plan development includingdifferentiation
·Positive Behavior Support Strategies
·Strategies to improve or manage sensoryregulation dysfunction across environments
·Strategies to improve communication and socialintegration skills across environments
·Strategies to de-escalate behaviors
DESCRIPTION
·Provide education to student from across Ohio inThe Ohio State University-Harding Hospital
·Follow all Federal and State Guidelines forEducation of Children with Disabilities, IDEIA and the Operating Standards forOhio’s Schools Serving Children with Disabilities
·Participate in daily and weekly meetings withfaculty and staff
·Conduct short pre- and post-assessments tomonitor individual student progress
·Support parents and family members as activeparticipants in all aspects of the students’ education
·Communicate with the school district of residentto obtain any necessary paperwork (IEP, class work)
·Communicate with the school district ofresidence regarding needs for the student when returning back to school; thiscould include coordinating a meeting with hospital and school staff
·Prepare lesson plans that are developed aroundeach child’s needs, using a variety of instructional formats
·Meet schedules and timelines as determine byteam
·Follow Columbus City Schools’ calendar
·Complete out of district bulling documents asdirected by supervisor
·Complete other duties as assigned
