Wiipica has the infrastructure and assets to support a variety of projects in diverse geographic locations, from design to close out. Our customers include the Department of Defense (including US Army Corps of Engineers), and the General Services Administration. Miami Wiipica works on projects nationwide.

Overview :

Miami Wiipica is seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized construction project manager to join our growing team. In this position, you will oversee financial budgets, coordinate contractors, and manage the construction process. You will also be in charge of organizing schedules, tracking inventory, and ordering and managing materials. Experience working with government customers is required; DoD highly preferred.

This is a remote position that requires regular travel to job sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Projects managed to consist of basic general construction, renovation and light civil construction.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Work directly with Project Site Superintendent
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Analyze plans, specs, construction notes, details and perform quantity take offs for use in bid proposals
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Review specifications and construction drawings in the development of scopes of work including identifying required scopes/trades and quantities
  • Review contracts prior to bid to ensure that terms, conditions, exclusions, and qualifications included in the owner's contract are appropriately addressed in the cost estimate

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Familiar with Government RFP’s/Solicitations
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 30-Hour OSHA certification, EM-385 Certification
  • Able to interact with company computer systems accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent attitude and good communication skills
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.

Preference in filling this position will be given to qualified Indian applicants in accordance with the Indian Preference Act.
