Special Requirements: : Ideally looking for an Endoscopy RN that can work the procedure room (both circulating and tech) as well as knows how to care for a patient pre-procedure and post-procedure. The right applicant would also float to the short stay deparment to provide care for pr-op and post-op patients.
So this is a 10 hour day, with a start time between 0600 and 0900 which means an end time between 1630 and 1930. So the variability is truly limited and does not require switching back and forth between night and days. I could carve out a “block” schedule with every Tue, Wed, or Thurs off but Mon and Fridays are out of the question given those are our highest volume days. I can not “block” any weekends or partial weekends. This candidate would have a weekend call obligation Sat 0600-Mon 0600 no more than 1 time every 4 weeks (it would likely be less frequent). What we have done in the past is see what day during each week of a 4 week schedule they would prefer be off. We then try to schedule around those requests with the exception of every Monday or every Friday. However we can usually give 1 or 2 of the Mondays or Fridays off in a four week schedule period. Long story short the candidate will have a posted 4 week schedule at all times and we can “block” schedule within reason.
