Job Description

This position starts at $19.43 per hour.

The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for a Certified Nurses Aide - Restorative Aide. You must be a Certified Nurses Aide to qualify for this position.

Duties include:

- Under the direction of the Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist, carries out and administers restorative/maintenance exercise programs working with IVH residents.

- Assists residents with their therapeutic exercise and treatment programs including cold packs, hot packs, paraffin, overhead pulleys, wall pulleys, range of motion activities, stationary bicycle, and standing and walking using parallel bars or assistive devices such as canes and walkers.

- Assists residents with dining.

- Reports to therapist any changes in resident condition or response to therapy or exercise plan.

- Computerized documentation of resident's attendance and participation is completed daily. Quarterly summaries are completed reporting the resident's attendance and response to the treatment regime to the Physical Therapist for incorporation into quarterly and annual MDS data and assessments.

- Participates in RCC meetings for their assigned units.

Additional Qualification Requirements

Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required Commercial Drivers License or Chauffeurs License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.
