GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer or designee, performs evaluations, diagnoses, ongoing assessments, and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental disabilities. Identifies client needs, makes treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management and psycho-educational support in collaboration with existing medical staff and program; performs related work as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician Assistant, has Michigan Controlled Substance License, Current MCCPA certification.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and the use of a vehicle during work hours.
PREFERENCES:
Experience working as a certified Physician Assistant under a psychiatrist
Three (3) years’ experience working as a Certified Physician Assistant AND three (3) years clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention in the outpatient or inpatient setting.
