Position Summary

Responsible for supervising the research, writing, and submitting all grant and foundation proposals, submitting all program and financial grant reports, managing the implementation of all funding contracts and maintaining funder relationships. Must maintain extremely organized filing and timeline calendars to track all funding requirements.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or related field or an equivalent of these skills through formal education and life skills or work experience
  • Prior experience in non-profit grant management required, 2-3 years preferred.
  • Maintain valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).

Role and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the research, writing and submission of grant and foundation proposals.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of program and financial reporting for all funders.
  • Fully understands and comprehends requirements for all financial aspects of each grant/foundation.
  • Organizes and maintains internal grant/foundation files that meets requirements for all funders and general audit purposes.
  • Participates with grants team in the development and identification of new funding opportunities, drafting of prospective programmatic budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery.
  • Work closely with Directors to ensure all grants / foundations funding is completely used in the appropriate timeframe and for the exact purposes outlined in agreements.

  • Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Monday – Friday Normal Business hours
  • Evenings and weekends based on workload

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with diverse populations. Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of conflicts and work in team structure.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills including spelling and grammar skills.
  • Experience in public relations, resource development, or related duties.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel.
