SHELL LUMBER AND HARDWARE COMPANY is Hiring a Paint Manager - Retail Near Miami, FL

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all customers are being helped, emphasis on customer service
  • Participates in production and is backup coverage for absences in paint and blast areas
  • Responsible for day-to-day direction and management of paint team
  • Responsibilities include sorting and preparing orders, pulling product from inventory, staging products, loading and unloading and placing product back into inventory
  • Assisting the store manager with daily and weekly production goals for the paint promotions.
  • Supervises the daily activities of production and ensures quality standards are achieved
  • Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements and production schedules with the store manager
  • Monitors operations and processes and provides recommendations for improvements to store manager
  • Maintains effective and timely communication with the store manager
  • Communicate effectively to employees their responsibility for safety, following safety rules and the reporting of unsafe
  • Ensures established requirements and standards are met
  • Responsible for training and coaching on job functions and quality checks with all equipment in the paint department
  • Inspect and operate a wide range of equipment in the paint department on a daily basis
  • Responsible for repairs and trouble-shooting equipment issues.
  • Responsible with making sure daily paperwork is complete and correct
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications:
  • Leadership; ability to lead people with the ability to motivate others
  • Previous industrial painting experience with retail paint store experience, preferred
  • Responsible for on-site compliance monitoring with tracking, reporting, inspections and evaluations with all government regulated activities
  • NACE Certified, not required but preferred
  • Experience with multiple pieces of equipment, paint mixers, paint spectrometer and paint shakers
  • Safe operation of forklift and equipment used in the paint department
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Holds quality to a high standard
