About Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem (HBAWS): The Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem (HBAWS), founded in 1959, is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA). We are a professional, non-profit trade association dedicated to the protection and promotion of our local housing industry and those who work within this market. The HBAWS is known for connecting members through monthly events, professional development, community events and much more. We are actively involved in our local, state, and national legislative issues affecting our industry. Members of the HBAWS 600 member firms include builders, remodelers, developers, suppliers, subcontractors, bankers, mortgage lenders, landscapers, engineers and many other supporting organizations and businesses affiliated with the building industry. Position Description: The Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented professional Events Coordinator to join our team who can organize, facilitate, and execute monthly and annual events of the association. The applicant should be an outgoing, energetic, adaptable, organized, positive and strategic individual. Events include but are not limited to the Triad Home & Garden Show, the Spring and Fall Parade of Homes, the Spring and Fall Golf Tournaments, Golden Home Awards Gala, Sporting Clays Tournament, Cornhole Tournament, Casino Night, and other events the HBAWS presents for members benefit. This role is a new position within the Association and ensures a focus on providing the best event experiences for our members. The selected candidate will report to the Executive Vice President (EVP). Desired Skills and Experience: Event planning Preparing, monitoring, and coordinating event timelines Contract negotiations Sales and customer service background Works well alone and collaborative team player Effectively builds relationships with industry partners Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and deadlines by priorities Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe CC Suite Proficient in graphic design and social media to create marketing materials Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment Four-year college degree in related field and 1-3 years of event planning experience. Position Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates the annual Triad Home & Garden Show, including exhibitor booth sales and registration, exhibitor relations and on-site logistics. Works in conjunction with staff on event promotion. Coordinates the annual 5K Nailed It! Run and Fun Walk. Coordinates the annual Spring and Fall Parade of Homes including builder participation, managing the entry process, and creating the marketing materials. Coordinates social functions and meetings of the association, including Annual Meeting, Membership Meetings, Golf Tournaments, Golden Home Awards Gala, etc. This includes registration, event location, catering needs and on-site logistics. Works in conjunction with staff on event promotion. In conjunction with Executive Vice President, targets new areas of growth and stability for general membership events and community events. Provides key staff support to the Social Committee, Spring and Fall Parade of Homes Committee, and Golf Committee, for event coordination, event reports and volunteer needs. Maintains current event details on the HBAWS event calendar, respective event websites and other event promotional material. Provides reports as needed to EVP on event registration status, event sales and event participation statistics. Serve as staff liaison (coordinate and attend) for Triad Home & Garden Show Committee, Parade of Homes committees, Golf Committee, Social Committee and Sponsors Club Committee. Develop and implement a plan to sell event sponsorships. Coordinate other events as directed by Board of Directors and EVP. Create and maintain a job manual for this position. Perform other duties as directed by EVP. Additional Requirements: Candidate must have a personal vehicle and valid drivers license Ability to work some evenings (avg. one night per month) Ability to work some weekends (avg. two weekends per year) Ability to lift 35 lbs. Compensation Details: Full time salaried position. Benefits take effect following 90 days of continuous employment.
